Exhibition

Organised in partnership with the Centre for Computing History and sponsored by Raspberry Pi, Web@30 celebrated the 30th anniversary of the first wbsite going live. The pop-up exhibition at The Grand Arcade, Cambridge was visited by 8,000 visitors.

Appearing as a standalone exhibition at Here East in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, 64-BITS consisted of 32 historic websites and 32 examples of computer art. The show was supported by The British Library, the Centre for Computer History, Soul Labels and Aesop Agency.

Digital Archaeology was a core part of The Barbican’s Digital Revolution exhibition, telling the creative history of computers in 100 projects. Now on international tour.

Appearing as part of Digital Shoreditch’s Great Digital Exhibition, Error 404 celebrates websites made by the first generation of Shoreditch agencies. Websites from Airside, De-construct, Deepend, Digit, Hi-Res!, Large, Lateral and Less Rain displayed on the vintage hardware and software of their time.

Digital Archaeology ran again at Internet Week New York 2011, where it attracted 12,000 visitors. The New York show was sponsored by Google and featured a keynote presentation by Abigail Grotke of the Library of Congress.

Digital Archaeology made its debut at Internet Week Europe 2010. The exhibition celebrates the golden era of the website but more importantly, it seeks to raise the profile of web archiving. Showcasing 15 groundbreaking websites, the highlight of the show was a keynote presentation by Helen Hockx-Yu of The British Library.
